Sundance Home #2 in Cambodia - Chicago Marathon 2018

Sometimes our lives get so busy that we forget to look around and realize how lucky we are. When a storm hits, we can be grateful for a roof over our heads. When we're thirsty, we can be thankful for running water.
Here's an opportunity for you to give back and make an impact.
I'll be running the Chicago Marathon on October 7 to help build a home for a large family in need in the Siem Reap area of Cambodia.
The family that will receive this home currently lives in a substandard, skeleton house made of wood beams and planks. The walls are made of dried palm leaves, a popular building material that does not last long. Insects live in the leaves and transmit diseases. This kind of house is rarely resistant to wind gusts and tropical rain showers. It is no place to raise a family.
Habitat for Humanity uses their expertise to renovate and build homes with the family's help. This builds self-reliance, and a feeling of ownership and commitment.
Habitat also helps the family acquire property rights for their land and makes sure that the home provides clean drinking water, good sanitation and better hygiene.
The average price of a Habitat home in Cambodia is 1500 Euros, so that's my goal this year. I'm aiming to meet or exceed that and help at least one family.
You can help make an impact and leave a legacy by supporting this project with your contribution.
Instant karma boomerang! Thank you for building with me.
