On September 17th, 2023, I’ll be running the 10 mile ‘Dam to Damloop’ from Amsterdam to Zaandam to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. I appreciate your support and any small contribution you make will instantly go to a good cause.

Habitat is a non-profit organization that works toward a vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Join me in building concrete floors for 5 families in Esteli, Nicaragua. Currently, many families there live in homes with dirt floors, and that can cause serious health problems.

This project is focused on supporting female-run households with children below the age of 6 as well as the elderly and people with disabilities.

I’m raising money for this project because concrete floors:
•improve households’ physical environment and hygiene
•improve quality of life
•reduce gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases
•help improve children's cognitive development
•provide protection against flooding and heavy rains
•are easy to install, durable and resistant
•are produced locally
•are low-cost and environmentally friendly
•reduce the growth of viruses, bacteria and parasites
•are washable and therefore more hygienic

Thank you for making an impact with me one life at a time.

Let’s do this, friends,

Jill

As you give, you receive.

17-09-2023 | 07:45 I've been up since 3AM.  I'm totally jet lagged. I just got back yesterday from 2 weeks in Chicago. And in a few hours, I'll be running the 'Dam to Dam' 10 mile run with my friend Pepe. Or more likely, trailing way behind and hopefully finishing because I'm way undertrained and exhausted.  Still, I'm running because I can. I have two legs, a pumping heart, and this day ahead of me. And I know that even though I cannot control the weather, I can control my inner world. What I think, what I feel, and what I do is all on me. And I have a strong network of amazing people in my life who always seem to step up and want to help.  So I'm going to ask each of you who reads this to do a little something. If you can afford to give a little to help some kids in Nicaragua get solid floors to play on, please do.  If you've already jumped in and donated to the cause, a sincere thank you. And if you can't afford it at this time, then just do one kind thing for someone today.  You can have much more of an impact than you think. Thanks for your continued support. We can do huge things when we do them together. Jill
