Still to go

"As long as you're breathing, it's never too late to do some good." Maya Angelou

In times like these, I feel grateful to have a roof over my head and a place to retreat to. I'm sure you do too. Not everyone has that luxury.

Here's an opportunity for you to pay it forward and give a family that chance.

I'll be running the 'Barcelona Marathon' (now moved to October 25, 2020) to raise money to build a home for a family in need in Makululu, Zambia.

Families there are made up of mostly women who take care of many children and grandchildren in their community. They work independently and struggle to provide more than one meal a day for their extended families. Currently, they live in shacks that are unsafe and unhealthy, so having a solid home will give them the stability they need.

My fundraising goal is 2500 Euros since that's the average price to build a home there.

By contributing to this project, you will make a direct impact by helping a large family in need obtain shelter.

Thank you for supporting me.

You can create your own personalized poster to draw attention to this fundraising page. After printing the poster you can hang it in a shop, a café window or a community bulletin board. Ask your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors to help and also put up a poster in their home, school or work place. Most people are willing to help but be sure to ask permission first.

More time to train + more time to get to my goal.

17-03-2020 | 00:00 The Barcelona Marathon, which was due to take place on Sunday March 15, has been postponed to Sunday October 25, in an effort to control the outbreak and contain the spread of the coronavirus.  This was due to security reasons with regards to COVID 19 and following the World Health Organization & Health Authorities' recommendations on this matter for major international events. For those of you who have already donated, I thank you. Your money will still be put to good use. On a positive note, this hopefully gives me more time to train and more time to raise money to reach my fundraising goal. Thank you again for your support, Jill
